Hi! My name is Stacey L Head. I have been in the DFW area since Fall of 2009.
I have my masters in clinical psychology and am a Licensed Professional Counselor by the State of Texas. I attended graduate college at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches and attended The University of Texas at Austin for my undergraduate studies.
I have worked in private practice, group practice, emergency rooms, mental health hospitals, inpatient addiction centers, outpatient addiction centers, residential treatment centers for children/teens, and college environments. I have experience working with children as young as 3 on behavioral issues and sexual trauma, as well as adolescents involved with juvenile probation & Texas Youth Commission, and many adults dealing with life transitions and struggles. I have worked with boys and girls on many issues across all ages: addiction, gangs, self-harming, self-esteem, depression, divorce, trauma, anger, impulsivity and many other concerns.
I have worked closely with many families and children involved with Texas Dept. of Family Protective Services to help heal wounds of domestic violence, grief, and most importantly address problem-solving skills and coping skills. I have experience providing marital counseling, and much experience in working with individual adults overcome their own personal stressors both past and present. Therapy issues include but are not limited to: abuse, neglect, separation/attachment issues, domestic violence, behavioral problems, strained relationships, work-related difficulties, general life issues as well as mental health issues such as Major Depressive Disorder, ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, etc.
I am a certified Family Wellness Instructor and hold pre-marital counseling groups which will waive the state marriage licensing fee. I am a trauma-focused certified counselor, as well as, a state licensed supervisor to others pursuing licensure.
